TFCC Welcomes New UCS Client, North Kansas City

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 18, 2007

Columbus, Ohio:  The Kansas City Police Department, in concert with several public safety departments, recently purchased TFCC’s Universal Communications System (UCS).

UCS is a Web-based high-speed notification system that sends out a blanket message to thousands of residents at once warning of impending emergencies or public health concerns and giving specifics on action that should be taken.

The City can use UCS to mobilize First Responders, inform Law Enforcement, share information across jurisdictions, or alert the general public.

In addition to landline and cellular calls, the system can also send out mass e-mails and text messages in the event of an emergency.

The UCS system can be accessed remotely from most computers in the event that a department’s dispatch center is down.

Whether the emergency is a tornado, a flood, a bomb threat, or missing persons, the Universal Communications System will get the right message to the right people – instantly.
